Selector Twis is the new Heineken Green Synergy DJ Champion. Coming from a field of ten DJ finalists, the Blazin FM DJ, who this year also tried his hand at Soca music, made this his first victory after participating in the eight year old event just twice.

The originators of “Bouyon” music, the band WCK of Dominica has been confirmed for the 4th annual Oktoberfest En Kweyol which takes place here in Saint Lucia, Sunday October 2, 2011. Launched here on Wednesday September 7 by organizers of the event Windward and Leeward Brewery Limited, plans were unveiled for this year’s festivity which will feature WLBL’s portfolio of products as well as a selection of five imported great beers from around the world. The entertainment line-up will feature a great cast of traditional and French-Creole performers from Saint Lucia, encompassing both dance and music and will be headlined by WCK of Dominica.

A massive crowd turned out at the CSA/RCI car park last Friday June 10 during Piton Party in De Yard, for the second leg of the Piton Soca Starz semi-final round which turned out to be a very exciting and entertaining event. The first semi-final was held Friday June 4 at the WLBL car park Vieux Fort.
According to Piton Brand manager Germaine Serieux, this year’s event has surpassed last year’s inaugural event in terms of quality of performances and general crowd support and feedback. “We have definitely seen the event grow in several areas,” Serieux says. “This year we have a lot more young female artistes which is good for the art-form generally and we also have a lot more persons bold enough to do their own original material,” he added. “All in all it has been a fantastic run so far for Piton Soca Starz this year and we are looking forward to a great final in Gros Islet on the 24 of June,” the Piton Brand manager expressed.
