Eight calypsonians have been selected to vie for the 2010 Calypso Monarch title.
They are Candice Robinson, Yvonne Duke, Wendy Garrick, Nicole Thomas, Shamika Denoon, Alex Gift, Kelvin George and Lesley Ann Ellis.
In what is being described as the most controversial decision in the history of calypso judging in Tobago, TUCO calypso judges from Trinidad selected the six women and two men for the contest. It has been alleged that the score sheets obtained by TUCO Tobago on Tuesday revealed a number of discrepancies in judging which it plans to pursue with the parent body.
